In Australia, we love a good pie. I used this sweet machine to make some of my own versions of a good meaty pie. Tasted so much better home-made and because it was made with filo pastry - incredible texture!

Rainbow Heart Cookies
Just going on with the theme of all things colourful and lovely, I made these sweet looking cookie hearts! These would be perfect as a little gift for someone. Just cut out small squares of clear cellophane, fill 'em up with these sweet treats, tie it up in a lovely bow with a ribbon and it'll sure make somebody else's a whole lot brighter!
kind of looks like Play Doh :/ And that's exactly what my nephew thought, as I was baking and he was busy modeling stuff out of it...

Pan Fried Mashed Potatoes
This is such a delicious, as well as a different way of having your mashed potatoes. Just do your regular mashing and smushing of potatoes, add in some corn, peas and whatever else you'd like (frozen vegetables is fine) and spoon in large portions of the potato mixture into a pan with hot oil and fry until crispy or golden brown.
Perfect on the side with a piece of steak and salad.

Julienne Potatoes
In case you were wondering-- it didn't take me tooo long to julienne all the potatoes used to make this. But I did wish I had one of those awesome slicing products I've been seeing on tv. Eh, nothing wrong with doing it old school.
If you want to, you can also add in julienned carrots into it. It'll still be very traditional Chinese.

Fried Rice
Probably the most easiest thing to make when you have a limited amount of ingredients at home and the easiest thing to cook, full stop.

Purple Flowered Cupcakes
No, I did not go out and buy purple food dye. I could of and I can do that, but being an artist myself, I enjoy making my own colours-- don't you? Of course there are the days where you just can be bothered and want to use just whatever you find easiest but today just wasn't one of those days. I wanted to bake. Because I had time to. It took me a while to make this gorgeous colour though, as did piping little individual flowers on it but it was all pretty worth it.

No Recipe Choc-chip Cookies
I made these gooey, hot deliciousness with my brother. After craving a whole morning for choc-chip cookies, I finally jumped on the internet to search for the world's best choc-chip cookie recipe. Yep, the world's best. All recipes looked too familiar and pretty much the same as each other so my brother suggested that we don't look up a recipe and make up our own "world's best recipe". Bowls, spoons, various ingredients were used and we literally, no really. We literally just did what we felt like. We just pured who knows how much flour in a bowl, added butter, sugar and what not in until we thought it was a pretty good consistency! It was so much fun and this was how them babies turned out:
Who says we need to follow exact recipes precisely? But when in doubt, just chuck in HUGE chunks of chocolate. You just can't go wrong there, when all you're tasting is sweet, sweet chocolate!

Chinese Mantou (Buns)
Just up until recently, I've finally decided to step away from the dessert making and to learn some Chinese cuisines. Traditional Chinese cuisines. To kick start this off, I've decided to make Mantou's. They're just like bread except they're steamed instead of baked. These buns, as well as noodles and other wheat products, are consumed on a daily basis by the Chinese people living in the Nothern parts of China. They were so much simpler than I had imagined! I made an original version, plus a brown sugar one.
You can also deep fry them. Very unhealthy but oh-so good!

Rainbow Cupcakes!
Who doesn't love a splash of colour in their life? These were made in advance for the Young Women in our ward for mutual, as we taught them each how to master the art of piping icing!
